 Hey girly before I start I just want to say a massive thank you to you for being here, taking interest in what I say and supporting SWC I appreciate you SO much and I hope you love the blog! 

It’s a long one but worth it 🖤 

Have you ever felt like you’re just blending in? Like no matter how much effort you put into your business, something still feels off, like you’re missing that thing that makes people stop, pay attention, and say, ‘I need this in my life?’

 You are not alone so many people have a great product, have a great idea BUT they’re too busy ‘just selling’ or just being another X business owner.

People do not like being sold to, they don’t care about your product they care about the transformation, the result that you or your product provides. The WHAT and HOW and WHY it will impact them and give them exactly what they don’t just want… but NEED.

Right now, you might see yourself as just a teacher, just a personal trainer, just a salon owner, just a planner designer, just a photographer, just a web designer what ever it is that you do. But what if what you do is so much bigger than that? What if you created a purpose in what you do… 

Here is why I want you to think bigger about what you do and why you do it because potentially this could change everything for you or give you some serious lightbulbs 💡 🧠

People don’t pay for math tutoring they pay for the confidence their child gains when they finally understand a subject that once felt impossible.

People don’t buy a gym membership they invest in the stronger, more energised version of themselves that finally feels good in their own body and in the clothes they love and once dreamt of wearing.

People don’t buy a digital planner they invest in a system that helps them organise their life, feel less overwhelmed, and that allows them to stay on top of things.

So what if you weren’t just teaching…but instead you created homeschooling resources that completely revolutionised how families educate at home? What if parents didn’t just buy your resources, but saw your brand as the go-to educational platform for raising confident, curious, and self-motivated kids? What if you didn’t just make maths easy but you made it fun for the kids that struggle?

What if female founders didn’t just book you for a brand shoot, but credited you as the reason their brand finally had the confidence, credibility, and magnetic presence to stand out in their industry? By not just being a photographer but being the visionary behind personal brands so that they not only turn heads but attract dream clients and make women feel unstoppable because their visuals finally match the impact they’re products and offers provide. What if you capture more than just a standard headshot but the heart and soul of who she is as a founder, leader, entrepreneur? What if your products became so essential that people couldn’t imagine running their day without them?

What if you weren’t just a business coach, but the leader behind a complete shift in how entrepreneurs succeed? Providing personalised frameworks, focusing on not just scaling and numbers but mindset and embodiment, showing them how to build a business that is ‘soul-lead and life-first’ as well as being the person that can hit high revenue goals. What if people didn’t just learn from you, but they told you that you are the reason they have a business that changed their life? Not because you handed them another generic strategy, but because you taught them how to build a business that aligns with their unique strengths, values, and visions so they never have to force themselves into someone else's ‘blueprint’ again and instead they can finally step into their higher self in every aspect of their life and because of this they not only have a thriving business but they have a thriving mind and life too.

What if you didn’t just own a beauty salon, but built a space where confidence is built and celebrated? A salon where women don’t just come for a facial or a manicure, or to get their brows done but for an experience that leaves them feeling like the most baddy, empowered, confident version of themselves inside and out.

NOW I am going to go with positioning myself as though I was working with a beauty salon owner and what can I suggest to them to take them from being just a beauty salon to a BOOKED OUT IN DEMAND BEAUTY BRAND… 

FIRSTLY positioning your salon as the place where clients feel like THAT girl. Elevating every single step of your clients experience, from the moment they walk in to the way they walk out, ensuring they know they are the main character.

Visioning clients that KNOW they are stepping into the coolest salon in town and SHARING that all over socials. So as much as what you do is slay, we need to think branding, visuals, decor, aesthetics, smell, music ALL of this which is foundational and needs figuring out before anything else.

Then on arrival…Your client is not just another ‘Morning take a seat’ and make small talk for the next hour or two… Maybe you provide a hot towel infused with essential oils when they arrive or hand them a ‘THAT girl’ drinks menu (matcha, collagen-infused water).  Massage chairs in the waiting area? Whatever it is, know that the experience starts the moment they step foot into your salon. And because this is a community we’re building we greet clients with their name. If your brand voice and messaging is bestie energy SHOW that, give that, provide the energy to allow them to feel comfortable and safe. People love that vibe!

FYI know the difference between ‘bestie energy’ and calling your client a word such as ‘darling.’ Totally different don’t get the two confused - icky. Nope nope nope. 🫣

Now let’s discuss VIBEY touch points…Think a relaxation station with trendy books & Mag’s (think personal development or Vogue, The Beauty Bible etc) or a fragrance misting moment post-treatment so they leave not only feeling incred but smell it too.

Now we know… CONTENT is queeeeeen so  Consider offering a polaroid station or a selfie mirror for clients to either get a mini polaroid of their glow-up with a cute branded message like ‘meet your best self’ that they can take away with them or they can take their ‘cool, confident, queen’ mirror selfie where you have a sticker slogan on it that says ‘NOT just a pretty face’ (as an example) - such vibes. They  can then share and tag you providing your brand with word-of-mouth marketing that we love to see and want.😎

Affirmation wall? Imagine dedicating a wall or area for your clients to write a positive affirmation…post treatment? Being known for the being the home of self love and confident women 😮‍💨

Speaking of treatments and going above setting the WOW standard. Firstly you don’t just want to offer all the standard beauty treatments you want to provide and position your chosen treatments as next level experiences that people can’t stop talking about.

Every top beauty brand has their one service that people know them for. Whether it’s a facial with an ice-globe lymphatic massage, The sculpting brow technique, or a custom-blended lip & cheek tint service where clients leave with a mini pot of their perfect shade… You should think about creating a treatment unique to you so it eventually becomes instantly recognisable and what people travel the country to receive from you.

Think moisture-locking ‘glass skin’ treatment that makes everyone in your town ask your client what her skincare secret is and she replies with: (YOUR salon name)😎

When you have locked down on treatments think products. Custom, branded, one of a kind…it’s giving beauty EMPIRE vibes. 😮‍💨

Now on to my fave COMMUNITY building

The above is all what makes a great salon but now I want you to think of ways to provide services that create more than that. We’re talking events, networking, community building. BRAND empire building…

Beauty & Boss Babe Nights- evening events with your team where clients come, sip champagne, get mini facials or mini brow lifts, self care, mindset masterclasses and network with other empowered women.

ME first events - Dedicated to mums… self-care meets soul-care an evening where mums can unwind, recharge, and feel like themselves again. Mixing pampering treatments, Reiki energy healing, and mental cleansing to reset their mind and body. Adding the balance with pizza, good vibes, and a room full of incredible mums who just get it. 

THAT girl Masterclasses & Workshops where you provide or bring in other experts to teach other  beauty techs or aspiring beauty techs treatments or beauty business and brand building secrets. This is how to position yourself not only as an expert but as a leader within your industry.

Seasonal themes - You can provide ‘THE BIG GIRL’S NIGHT IN’ events (in your salon) where clients come, try out new face masks / products, eat, have a few drinks and do seasonal activities such as ‘Christmas wreath making’ in a face mask and robe (imagine the Pinterest vibes)… ‘Galentines self love and pizza events. ‘Easter pamper in a hamper’ night … the ideas are truly endless. Charge X amount per ticket, limit spaces and build a community of incredible women that will literally suffer with the worlds worst FOMO if they miss out.

And then of course there is the option of creating a loyalty program like no other. Not just a ‘points towards appointments’ but a Members only club where members get access to self-care products, guides, beauty confidence coaching and surprise upgrades that make them feel seen, valued  and appreciated within your brand.

NOW onto marketing and social media. How is your brand perceived on socials? We want to NOT just be a salon that posts before and afters with a side of irrelevant filler content. We want to be creating magnetic content that makes people stop scrolling and DM you immediately saying “ WHERE ARE YOU BASED BECAUSE I WILL FLY TO YOUR SALON IF I HAVE TO.” Think of your content being saved and sent to the girls group chat with the comments ‘NOT A WANT, NOT A NEED IT’S BOOKED AND HAPPENING.’ 💁🏼‍♀️

It’s time to get strategic and create high impact content.

Ensure you have an ‘about’ you and ‘why you’re the go to’ pinned. A walk through of the salon and ‘what you offer’ pinned and something that shows why your salon is the place every one wants to come and be part of. Ensure highlights on instagram are up to date and utilised.

Aesthetic / ASMR Treatment reels - ‘Skincare tips for the girlies with oily skin.’

Brand knowledge - ‘Did you know your face shape affects your lash style choice?’

That girl transformation reels- Film your clients walking in, receiving their treatment, and then their first reaction in the mirror. This is the type of content that always gets insane engagement because people love seeing real reactions.

You’re doing it wrong series’ correcting common beauty mistakes but in a fun way.

Celeb beauty recreations - ‘How to get Hailey Biebers glazed skin with (your salons) treatment. 

Come With Me POV Content - Showcase a clients experience of what it’s like to step into your salon. Think: aesthetic high quality with captions like POV: You’re booked in for a facial at the hottest salon in the UK.

Salon Events and community building- Film it and make people NEVER want to miss the next. THESE will be huge!

Always stay on brand, use your brand voice, create content that is of high quality and visually appealing and show yourself on stories consistently so everyone that follows you gets to know the face behind the brand. Use your expertise and creativity to differentiate yourself from every other salon owner and if that is by providing women the absolute dream beauty service experience, the ‘that girl’ transformation, empowering them and providing them a space to love themselves that bit more, to walk out of your salon feeling like ‘HER best self’ confident and happy as well as offering them opportunities through events allowing them to network, make friends, get out of the house for a few hours and enjoy themselves then you are doing exactly what most aren’t. Not to mention when you create your own range of products and become the leader and expert teacher to all the aspiring beauty girls that have the pleasure of learning from you.

The Result?

Your salon isn’t just a beauty spot now it’s a brand, a movement, and an experience women can’t stop talking about or get enough of. You’re not just a salon owner…you are the reason your clients don’t just leave feeling fresh faced they feel like the best version of themselves, inside and out, they feel valued, confident, beautiful and respected. And THAT is what makes them come back again and again and that is what no other salons can replicate - the feeling you provide to your clients.

So what if you didn’t just focus on offering a service, but created a Movement… whatever industry you’re in.

Create a mind map of your why, your purpose in the middle and expand the map with ideas, steps and then you can start implementing one by one to take you from feeling stuck in your business, wondering why growth feels slow to discovering through your ideas what areas you could expand or do better at, or what other things you can you bring in or create to take you from ‘just’ X to a WOW brand with purpose.

Think about all of the above and then think about big names you see online such as:

Grace Beverly - She went from fitness Influencer to multi millionaire entrepreneur.

Joe Wicks - Fitness instructor who didn’t just teach fitness he made healthy eating and movement simple and became the body coach.

Tony Robins - He didn’t just speak about mindset he built a whole movement around high performance mindset coaching transforming peoples lives around the world.

Emma Grede, Jess Hunt, Huda Kattan, Mel Robbins, Charlotte Tilburry, Jackie Aina, Alex Hormozi, Simon Squibb, Steven Bartlett, Marie Forleo and many many more… these are a few huge influential names that all have one thing in common:

They thought bigger, disrupted industry standards and became more than ‘just’ another business owner.

They found their brand purpose and discovered how to create impact and transformation for their audience. 

So remember when you only focus on what you do, it’s easy to blend in and be unnoticed but when you focus on the impact you make and the transformation  that is when your messaging becomes magnetic, tie this in with great visuals, jaw dropping results and a powerful mission then you step up within your industry and become a leader and the founder of a recognisable brand. Where people not only recognise your work instantly  but know you are the one for them.

This is what makes selling feel effortless. Because when people believe in the results you deliver, they don’t need to be convinced … they’re already in. SOLD. DONE.
